April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month

Spread the word: Prevention is key!

Oral cancer has a nearly 90% survival rate if caught early! Traditionally, oral cancer can be difficult to beat simply because it’s not detected until it has spread to other tissue. Make sure you’ve spoken with your dentist regarding oral cancer screening, and be aware of the causes and symptoms of this disease.

Oral cancer has been linked to:
• Smoking
• Alcohol Consumption
• Excessive exposure to the sun
• The HPV Virus

Symptoms can include:
• Persistent mouth sores
• Constant sore throat
• Difficulty swallowing
• Unexplained swellings and lumps in the mouth

Your dentist will check for these symptoms during your routine cleanings. However, if you have any concerns between visits, don’t be afraid to call and ask questions! As with any type of cancer, awareness and regular testing are essential to prevention and early detection. Oral Cancer Awareness Month is the perfect time to schedule your check up!

Root Canal Awareness Week: March 25th- 31st

At Hamburg Cove Endodontics, we’re working to change how you think about root canals. These procedures relieve pain, not cause it. Root canals are something that most patients actively avoid. The practice of endodontics is one of the most feared aspects of dental care.

Root Canal Awareness Week is a nationwide effort to educate patients on the modern techniques of this procedure, allowing them to comfortably call specialists when needed. Our office and team members are specially designed and trained to help you relax from the moment you step in the door.

Based on Swedish dental philosophy, our technique at Hamburg Cove Endodontics focuses on preserving as much of the tooth & tissue as possible, creating a minimally invasive procedure. This allows our patients to have the shortest healing time we can provide for them.

Root Canal Awareness Week is the perfect time to learn more! Please don’t hesitate to call or Email our team with any questions.
